Sonny’s BBQ of Pensacola Recognizes Lee Burt

Last week, Sonny’s BBQ surprised the Pine Forest High assistant football coach Lee Burt alongside his defensive linemen players, fellow Eagles coaches and his family. Burt was awarded for his steady mentorship and coaching, both on and off the field. 

Burt’s mother-in-law made the decision to nominate, saying, “Many times he has brought the players he is responsible for over to his house for burgers and games, just to reward them for their hard work. Many of them are from single-parent homes, and need a mentor to encourage them. I think we need more men who will give time to encourage young people who are struggling in life.” 

Sonny’s staff prepared delicious BBQ to feed over 50 people. Random Acts of BBQ happens a couple times per year and people can nominate a potential selection here or inquire inside of Sonny’s physical locations. A committee reviews each nomination and chooses a person to surprise.
